As an entomologist, my research area belongs to the fields of biology, molecular biology, ecology, chemical ecology, electron microscopy, ethology, physiology, morphology, resistance mechanisms, mechanical control, and biological control of agricultural, social, and stored grain pests. I am also interested in the teaching profession.

  • Scientific Researcher in the Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI), Multan Pakistan (October 2021 to date) 

As a Scientific Researcher in Entomological Section, CCRI, Multan Pakistan.

Work Description 

  • Rearing technologies of pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella.
  • Working in the project entitled “Cotton productivity enhancement through eco-friendly Pink Bollworm management and capacity building PM emergency program”, CCRI, under the “Ministry of National Food Security & Research”.
  • Basic and applied studies of red cotton bug, Dysdercus koenigii.
  • Planning and execution of research projects.
  • To assist the “Head of Entomological Section” in implementing the research programs.
  • Supervision and conduction of research trials. 
  • Monitoring of insecticide resistance.
  • Biological control of cotton pests.
  • Monitoring of parasitoid of whiteflies e.g., Eremocerus and Encarsia spp.
  • Developed and modified rearing techniques of various natural enemies
  • (Chrysoperla carnea, Antilochus spp., Aenasius spp.)
  • Toxicities of different insecticides against predators and parasitoids of cotton pests under lab and field conditions.
  • Supervision of internship students.


 

 

  • As a Volunteer Scientific Researcher in the Entomology Department, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, B.Z.U. Multan (March 2021- August 2021)

Work Description 

Research work was focused on the ecology and ethology of Antilochus coquebertii (Hemiptera: Pyrrhocoridae) and guided master students on their thesis research.

  • Post Doctorate in the Guangdong Academy Agricultural Sciences (GAAS), Guangzhou, Guangdong, China (Nov 2018 to Nov 2020)

Post-Doctorate (Agricultural Entomology) in the Plant Protection Research Institute, GAAS, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. 

Work Description 

  • Rearing technologies of fire ants, Solenopsis invicta.
  • Worked on the olfactory and gustatory sense of fire ant workers under the project entitled “President Foundation of the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences (201817B)”. 
  • Supervising under-graduates and graduate students.
  • Teaching statistical analysis.
  • Worked on the olfactory sense of Bactrocera species.
  • Rearing technologies of fall armyworm.
  • Report writings.
  • As an active participant in collaboration between "Plant Protection Research Institute, Guangdong Academy Agricultural Sciences, hlo. 7 Jinying Rd., Tianhe District 510640, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China" and "Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan, Pakistan". The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entitled "Sino-PAK Joint Key Laboratory for Subtropical Crop Protection" was done in 2019. 
  • As an active participant in collaboration between "Plant Protection Research Institute, Guangdong Academy Agricultural Sciences, hlo. 7 Jinying Rd., Tianhe District 510640, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China" and "Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), 60000, Multan, Pakistan". The MOU entitled "Sino-PAK Joint Key Laboratory for Subtropical Crop Protection” was done in 2020.
  • As a Volunteer Researcher in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology BZU Multan (2014-2015)

I have worked on different aspects of entomological research from 15-09-2014 to 30-06-2015 in the Entomology Department, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan.
