I graduated as one of the best Radiographers in my set acquiring Diploma in Radiography, Since graduation, I have been practicing and exploring almost every aspect on Diagnostic Radiography. I have worked with both floor mounted and ceiling mounted x-ray machines, Mobile x-ray and have worked in ward, theatre, ICU, SCBU, Accident and Emergency. I have worked with conventional  and Digital machines.

I am required by protocol to write a preliminary report after every examination, this has helped me master the appearance of various pathologies both in cross sectional images( tomosynthesis) and in 2D images.

I have over 5 years post graduation experience, I have worked in 3 busy hospitals since graduation and have encountered a varied caseload of patients including Accident patients, Screening patients, symptomatic patients, mentally deranged, critically ill,
orthopedic patients, illiterate and literate and have developed my skills and experiences while delivery optimal images required for diagnosis while working with them.  At my previous roles, I became very Resilient and Tough because some days, I can attend to as many as 20 mammo patients alone. While on call, I attend to patients from different units like A&E, theatre, ICU, ward, SCBU using both both conventional x-ray machine and CT alone.
I was required to travel to various sites to carry out health screening for clients using x-ray, Mammo and ultrasound machines. I sometimes carry out unconventional manipulation of machines and maneuver of patients to achieve optimal images necessary for diagnosis.

I rotate weekly to every unit depending on where my rota falls and work with Junior Radiographers, interns and health assistant staff every day directing, mentoring and teaching them in order to achieve the desired goals of the day. I am assigned Intern radiographers to teach and mentor and mine have always come out the best amongst their colleagues because I am a kind and compassionate teacher driven with the desire for excellence.

I am a proficient user of CR and DR systems and use of PACS to transmit and store images.
I attend CPDs, seminars and workshops organized by Radiology department to keep me abreast of trends in my profession and am always willing to learn and develop my skills.
I participate in departmental quality assurance procedures ensuring that Radiation monitoring and personal protective devices are properly handled in good shape and are safe for use. I ensure all equipment faults are promptly reported as soon as possible and I strive to abide by laid down departmental guidelines on infection control as well as maintain proper hygiene both personally and for my equipment and I strictly abide by departmental policies always.
I am well knowledged in radiation protection regulations for medical exposure and employ it at every examination, collimating properly and use of ALARA principle; use of radiation shield( lead apron, gonadal shield, face shield), avoiding unnecessary repeat, limiting scan to only area of interest. I ensure observation of codes of practice always, practice health and safety regulation, confidentiality of patient records including data protection act and HCPC standard of conduct and proficiency in order to remain on the register.
I am well versed in using computer and IT systems. This knowledge makes it easier for me to use PACS for sending and receiving images. I am also proficient in Microsoft office packages (word, excel, PowerPoint). I conduct seminars in clinical audit, departmental presentations and write and document reports of events.

- Ability to ensure patient safety at all times throughout the procedure by positioning the patient carefully, accurately collimating the beam to only the area of interest and administering the required dose radiation required to produce optimal diagnostic images as well as avoiding unnecessary repeat
scans.
- Ability to operate a patient centered care, treating each patient with optimal peculiarity.
- Ability to plan daily and delegate tasks within my multidisciplinary team( Radiographers, interns and health care staff) to ease task and complete work on time.
I can work efficiently under pressure and in attending to patients with different levels of anxiety, I adopt a relaxed style of communication and ask patients exploratory questions to make them feel more relaxed and comfortable with a smiling face, while I find the best solution to their problems. I see challenges as a way of acquiring new experience and improving my skills which has made me versatile and exposed to different situations.
I am an excellent team member and I can confidently take the part of a leader or subordinate to achieve a desired goal. I prioritize my workload by ranking referrals in a way that more severe or emergency cases are treated first. I also take into consideration the wait times of other patients to ensure fairness and equity. I also have considerable experience in seeking ways to improve patient outcomes and in my previous and current roles, I take part in meetings and working group discussions to help the organization grow and maintain its best status.
Personal qualities: I am compassionate, kind, empathetic and a good listener. I am calm and approachable, always keeping a cheerful face and happy smile. I have great communication skills which helps me interact with patients, patients relatives, colleagues and other staff.
