Over the past three years, I’ve worked as a Medical Assistant, supporting both a local doctor and physician from the US. My responsibilities included assisting with patient documentation, updating medical records, scheduling appointments, managing follow-ups, and coordinating lab work. Being a doctor myself, it was quite easy for me to understand medical terminology, treatment plans, and clinical documentation requirements, which helped me perform tasks efficiently and accurately. Working with both local and international practices also strengthened my adaptability to different healthcare systems and EMR platforms while ensuring smooth communication and quality patient care.

During my five years of MBBS, the first three years were focused on building a strong foundation in basic medical sciences like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology. These years helped me understand how the human body works and how diseases develop and are treated. The final two years were mostly clinical, where I got hands-on experience in wards and outpatient departments. I learned how to take patient histories, perform examinations, assist in procedures, and document everything properly. I also became familiar with electronic medical records and learned the importance of clear, accurate documentation in patient care. Overall, medical school taught me not just theory, but also how to apply it in real clinical settings with professionalism and empathy.
