    Description

    Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO)

    We are seeking two Chief Medical Information Officers (CMIO) to lead our efforts in planning, implementing, and optimizing medical information technology systems. One CMIO will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and the other in Karachi, Pakistan.

    About the Role

    The CMIOs will provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of clinical information technology systems, ensuring they support high-quality patient care, medical education, research, and the Aga Khan University's (AKU) clinical information technology strategic plans.

    Main Responsibilities

    1. Lead the planning, implementation, and optimization of all medical information technology systems to support healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.
    2. Ensure effective user support and education for EHR systems adoption, including continuous education and involvement of physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.
    3. Drive continuous improvement of quality and impact of medical information systems and data, participating in quality improvement and patient safety committees and collaborating with clinical leadership, EHR and IT teams.

    Requirements

    1. MBBS/ MScN degree or equivalent with an additional Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Clinical Informatics, or Computer Science is preferred.
    2. Certification in Clinical Informatics is preferred.
    3. A minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical settings is required, with a minimum 3 years' experience in leadership, information technology management or clinical informatics.
    4. Widespread knowledge and practical experience with electronic health information systems is required.
    5. Post EHR implementation benefit realization experience is an advantage.
    6. Experience with implementation and support of systems for virtual care is an advantage.
    7. A proven track record of accomplishments in management, particularly involving collaborative successful work with healthcare professionals is required.
    8. Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and change management skills are required.
