A Verification Officer plays a vital role in ensuring that branches meet business targets while maintaining prudent credit risk levels. They conduct independent reviews of loan files for accuracy, participate in credit decisions, and maintain records of loan applications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support branches to achieve business targets while ensuring prudent credit risk levels as per policy and guidelines.
2. Conduct independent desk reviews of loan files for accuracy and completeness, highlighting discrepancies for rectification before further processing.
3. Participate in branch Credit Committee for credit decisions, providing independent judgment on loan applications for approval or rejection.
4. Maintain MIS of all loan applications received, processed, and rejected.
5. Identify and consolidate reasons for rejection, sharing them with stakeholders.
6. Coordinate with branches/management to improve loan rejection rates and adopt best practices.
7. Conduct post-disbursement verifications on a sample basis, consolidating findings for sharing with Branch Management and Manager Credit Verification/Head Risk Analytics.
8. Verify the accuracy of information provided by borrowers through pre-approval verification (physical or telephonically).
9. Assess the creditworthiness and repayment capacity of customers.
10. Ensure the existence of borrowers and their businesses through cross-verification of home and business addresses.
11. Document serious non-compliance issues during verifications and report them to line Managers immediately.
12. Inculcate a culture of credit compliance in line with bank's policies and guidelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from a reputable institution in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Agriculture, Economics, or Accounts.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in credit and related fields.
