    About the Job

    At Potomac Distro, we are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the accounting team.

    Responsibilities

    Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

    • Generating and sending invoices to customers in a timely manner.
    • Following up on and collecting payments from customers.
    • Maintaining accurate customer account details to identify non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
    • Performing account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
    • Maintaining customer files and records in a secure and organized manner.
    • Producing monthly financial reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
    • Investigating and resolving customer queries in a professional and timely manner.
    • Processing adjustments to financial records as necessary.
    • Developing a recovery system to initiate collection efforts when necessary.
    • Communicating with clients regarding billing and payment inquiries.

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

    • Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Specialist.
    • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
    • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
    • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
    • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
