    Description

    Job Description:

    The Specialist IP Operations role reports directly to the Manager Transport operations IP with an extended team of 8 team members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design high-level and low-level plans for USF projects, network rollout, and expansions.
    • Support technical bid submissions for USF projects.
    • Create IP routing and DCN plans for MW, optical, and IP networks.
    • Develop end-to-end route design for MW, Optical, and IP networks.
    • Route mobile backhaul traffic over MW, optical, and IP networks.
    • Design and develop databases for transport networks.
    • Manage database systems for transport networks.
    • Optimize MW, optical, and IP networks.
    • Analyze networks proactively and perform necessary upgrades.
    • Ensure network visibility on NMS tools.
    • Prepare MOPs and SOPs for issue handling and defining new flows.
    • Implement inter-VRF routing as required.
    • Troubleshoot L-2 and L-3 routing protocol issues.
    • Configure and implement firewall rules for inter-zone communication.
    • Analyze planning team work-orders for new flows and expansions.
    • Identify network optimization needs and discuss plans for implementation.
    • Perform regular network audits and redundancy tests.
    • Install Google, Facebook, Akamai Cache Servers for capacity upgrades.
    • Provide on-site support for technical issues.
    • Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of IP-MPLS-MPBN, IXP, Enterprise Data Network.
    • Define new VPN tunnels and maintain existing ones.
    • Support nationwide franchisees for new and existing VPN connections.
    • Maintain hardware spares onsite and at warehouses.
    • Provide Wi-Fi support to nation-wide Jazz offices.
    • Provide network support to nationwide data centers and MSC locations.
    • Install and commission Google, Facebook, Akamai Cache Servers.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Engineering (preferably in Telecom, Electronics, or Computer Science).
    • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in relevant fields.
    • Solid understanding of IP-MPLS and Enterprise networks.
    • Hands-on experience with Huawei, Juniper, CISCO, and Ericsson equipment.
    • Understanding of IXP network infrastructure.
    • Expertise in software designing, IP basics, Power BI, and Dashboard Automations.
    • Hands-on experience with database design and development.
    • Excellent command over BGP protocols.
    • Deep understanding of MPLS, RSVP, LDP, OSPF, IS-IS, RIP, and static routing protocols.
    • Ability to engage vendors for timely restoration of services.
    • Familiarity with electrical and optical cables and associated installation standards.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work in shifts round the clock and on holidays as an emergency resource.
