    Description

    Area Leadership Overview

    The Area Leader is responsible for the overall academic leadership and management of schools within their region, as well as the cohort of Principals.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Ensure improvement in School Self-Assessment Reports (SSR) and fee collection enhancement;
    • Manage day-to-day fleet operations;
    • Supervise Area Administrators in performing administrative duties and managing academic data;

    Relationship Management

    • Maintain communication with community members to leverage available resources for school support;
    • Encourage Principals to maintain strong relationships with Parents and participate in Parent-Student meetings;
    • Foster liaison with donors for education-related activities;
    • Maintain collaborative working relationships with other Area Education Managers;

    Principal Quality Improvement

    • Strengthen the Principal cohort to enhance overall quality;
    • Work with the Regional Human Resources Manager to recruit high-quality local Principals through Assessment Centers;
    • Monitor regular academic feedback provided to Principals, including formal appraisals, and facilitate continuous improvement;
    • Support Principals through Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), where necessary;

    Teacher Quality Improvement

    • Enhance Teacher cohort quality, focusing on Content and Pedagogy;
    • Collaborate with Principals to recruit high-quality local Teachers, especially in challenging locations;
    • Approve Teacher transfers and promotion recommendations;
    • Conduct a minimum of one classroom observation per visit and ensure consistent feedback;

    School Quality Improvement

    • Develop a clear action plan for underperforming schools, implement strategies, and monitor progress;
    • Create area improvement plans (AIP) linked to whole-school and area improvement initiatives;
