    Senior Instructor/Assistant Professor (Research) Position

    We are seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Senior Instructor/Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Medicine at The Aga Khan University.

    About the Role

    This is a key appointment that will contribute to the development of research capacity within the Department of Medicine. As a Senior Instructor/Assistant Professor (Research), you will play a critical role in designing, conducting, and publishing high-impact research studies, as well as mentoring junior faculty members and graduate students.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide consultation and expertise in study designs, data collection tools, data analysis, and statistical modeling
    • Collaborate with scientists, healthcare experts, and researchers to develop models, deliver projects, and publish research findings
    • Collect, manipulate, and analyze complex data from various sources, presenting insights using different tools
    • Train faculty, residents, and fellows in statistics and epidemiology
    • Lead grant applications, manage grants, and ensure smooth project execution
    • Perform other duties assigned by the Chair and Vice Chair

    Requirements

    • PhD or MSc in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Statistics, or Biostatistics with relevant experience
    • Relevant academic or industry work experience in epidemiology and/or statistics
    • Experience in clinical research in a healthcare setting is an added advantage
    • Apply theoretical concepts to demonstrate systems and causal thinking using data analysis, interpretation, and evidence-based reasoning
    • Analyze data, employ research methods, and integrate biostatistics and epidemiological principles for problem-solving in public health
    • Communicate methodologic approaches, problem conceptualization, ethics, and core public health knowledge across interdisciplinary audiences
    • Proficiency in designing and executing health research projects, data analysis software (SPSS, STATA, R), Microsoft Office, and RedCAP
    • Strong mathematical, statistical, analytical skills, and ability to communicate clearly and efficiently
    • Able to lead and be a great team member

    Salary Information

    The salary range for this position is approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
