Parker Russell Lahore office is hiring a competent Assistant Tax Manager for its UAE based project to manage the group's overall tax strategy, ensuring compliance with UAE tax laws and international tax regulations. This role includes overseeing tax planning for all subsidiaries, handling tax reporting and filings, and optimizing the group's tax position. The Tax Specialist will collaborate closely with senior management to advise on tax-efficient strategies for both operational and investment activities, ensuring the group's tax obligations are met efficiently and in line with business objectives

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Group Tax Compliance and Reporting: Oversee and ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate tax,VAT, payroll taxes, etc.) for all subsidiaries within the group. Ensure compliance with UAE tax laws, including the Economic Substance Regulations, VAT, and any other applicable tax legislation at the corporate level.Group Tax Planning and Strategy:Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize the group's overall taxposition, ensuring tax efficiency across all entities and investments.Advise senior management on tax planning for complex transactions, includingmergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and cross-border investments.Monitor and identify opportunities for tax savings, including tax incentives,exemptions, and structuring opportunities.Transfer Pricing and International Tax Management:Manage transfer pricing policies for the group's inter-company transactions andensure compliance with international tax standards.Advise on tax-efficient structuring for international operations, focusing on minimizing cross-border tax risks and ensuring compliance with both local and international regulations.Tax Risk Management:Identify and assess tax risks at the group level, providing recommendations for mitigating exposure.Manage relationships with tax authorities, addressing inquiries, audits, and disputes on behalf of the group.Tax Integration in Corporate Strategy:Advise on the tax implications of business decisions and corporate restructuring, ensuring optimal tax positioning.Collaborate with the Finance and Legal teams to integrate tax considerations into the group's overall business and investment strategies.Tax Reporting and Documentation:Prepare tax disclosures and related documentation for the group's consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.Maintain thorough records and documentation to support tax positions and provide backup in case of audits.
Experience Required5+ years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and strategy at the corporate or group level.Expertise in managing tax for holding companies and multinational structures.Preference will be given to the candidate having knowledge of UAE tax laws, including VAT, corporate tax regulations, and economic substance requirements.Skills RequiredLanguage Spoken and written: EnglishAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Strong communication skills for presenting financial information to executive leadership.
EducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional tax certification (e.g., CFAP, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) is preferred.
