Job Role / Responsibilities:
Reporting to Director, Facilities Management & Project and Construction Management, you will be responsible to lead the campus facilities such as Housekeeping Services and Landscaping Services for Aga Khan University.
You would be expected to lead a very large team of over 1000 staff members (mix of regular and outsourced workers, administrative support, supervisors, and management staff) and to manage and smoothly run the campus facilities operations over 300 locations spread over the country.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- develop policies and programs for effective and efficient campus facilities services, particularly related to housekeeping and landscaping fields
- manage a large workforce with the help from a team consist of limited number of management staffs and supervisors.
- handle and oversee the campus facilities in 300+ locations spread over the country.
- work with the leadership & senior management to develop medium to long term strategic plan with different models
- provide leadership, operational oversight, and management to assigned areas
- ensure that all quality standard protocols as pre-defined by the Institution related to assigned areas are fully recognized, implemented, continuously monitored, and improved over the time
- prepare and monitor budgets and ensure to manage operations within given targets
- prepare and implement a robust plan for regular inspection of all capital assets health, diagnose issues, apply techniques for regular maintenance and propose replacements, as and when required
- ensure provision of seamless, hassle free, and high standard services to all assigned areas and particularly special attention is given to patient care areas
- ensure to record and manage track of all assigned services related requests, contracts, complains, and activities using appropriate MIS tools and data base systems
- negotiate and finalize corporate rate agreements for assigned services with different service providers through market research and personalized meetings
- ensure full compliance through checking and processing of invoices as per approval matrix, policies, and procedures
- ensure provision of availability of sufficient pool staffs to provide appropriate level of coverage during leave, absences, staff turnover, or during any other disasters or emergency situations
- implement alternative and innovative ideas to earn customer satisfaction
- closely work with and provide all possible support to a wide range of stakeholders at AKU such as Nursing Services, Medical services, Safety & Security, Design, Projects & Constructions, Civil & Grounds, Facilities Management, PSCMD, Academic Entities, Research sites, and other support departments, where required.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
You should have:
- Masters' degree in Management or Business Administration from a reputed Institution
- At least 10 years of professional working experience (including 5 years at managerial roles) in facilities or campus management, housekeeping, or general administrative areas with medium to large sized organization. Experience in healthcare would be preferred.
- diploma, certification courses or trainings in facilities management, housekeeping, landscaping, campus planning, or other relevant fields would be an added advantage
- approachable personality with good analytical and management skills
- excellent leadership, communication, and people skills
- ability to bring continuous improvement through innovations and smart resource planning
- ability to handle difficult clients / customers / staff members.
- be proficient with computer having ability to generate and analyze various MIS reports, keep track of trends, data management, and present reports for senior leadership
- person should be familiar to handle the highly customer-oriented services, including planning, development and implementation of policies, processes, and service delivery.
