Job Title: MBU Technician

The role of an MBU Technician involves the installation and maintenance of cell site infrastructure. Key responsibilities include power equipment inspection, calibrating power equipment to adapt to specific needs, and ensuring that cell site operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoots electrical issues and ensures prompt resolution.
• Maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) for Mobile Base Station (MBU) including noise-to-achieved-circuit ratio (NAR), traffic channel success rate (TCH), and preventive maintenance (PM) success rate.
• Inspects and maintains power equipment to guarantee proper functioning and prevent downtime.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) to ensure seamless transitions between power sources.
• Performs troubleshooting and diagnostic testing of rectifiers (Emerson, Huawei) and rectifier batteries (Li-ion cells) to identify and rectify issues.
• Identifies and troubleshoots Diesel Generator problems and failures to minimize operational disruptions.
• Performs Acceptance Testing and Proof (ATP) of Diesel Generators after overhauling to ensure optimal performance.
• Identifies and resolves DCACs (DC Auxiliary Control units) issues promptly.
• Resolves commercial supply faults to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.
• Ensures all tower operations are conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to strict health, safety, and environment (HSE) protocols.
• Reports safety hazards or concerns to supervisors and ensures timely corrective actions.
• Maintains accurate records of tower operations, including maintenance schedules and inventory management.
• Manages telco spares and inventory at cell sites to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
• Ensures quality of work through regular audits and PMs performed by vendors.
• Resolves sales & corporate complaints related to assigned MBU within 24 hours, providing timely resolutions to customer inquiries.
• Interprets technical drawings and specifications for proper tower component installation, ensuring adherence to industry standards.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or Associate Degree is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunication installation and maintenance of power infrastructure is necessary.
• Knowledge of tower components and tools is essential.
• Effective communication skills are crucial for collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a team environment is vital for project success.
• Hands-on experience with Power infrastructure on BTS Cell Sites, both AC & DC, Rectifiers, and RMS troubleshooting is necessary.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of telco and non-telco equipment is essential.
• Flexible working hours for operational emergencies are required.
