Assistant Director Healthcare Quality and Safety Riphah Institute of Healthcare Improvement and Safety, Islamabad, Pakistan Successfully implemented quality projects of the following certification/ accreditation bodies with a team of Quality Executives and Quality Manager 

1. ISO 9001:2015, 

2. MSDS of PHC 

3. Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority Certification, 

4. Accreditation Canada 

This included Document Development, Trainings and introducing systems change for quality improvement with identification of KPIs for monitoring. 

Internal and External Auditor Conducting periodic audits for Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety. Facilitation for developing improvement plans and their implementation. 

Other Functions 

A member of the IHRA Standards Review Committee Member of the IHRA think tank for development of Standards in orphan areas 

Master Trainer for TOT program on Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Framework 

Successfully initiated the launch of The Journal of Healthcare Quality & Safety Pakistan - developing the concept note to successful launch of the journal liaising with all stakeholders and bringing the journal editorial board together. 

Developed and implemented Healthcare Improvement, Quality and Patient Safety programs and courses addressing different populations within the University resulting in the launch of healthcare quality initiatives such as process improvement in laboratory reporting, hand hygiene practices, referral system within the hospital and several others. 

Successfully developed the Institute’s Healthcare Improvement and Safety strategy for outreach and developing a critical mass of Patient Safety Advocates 

Worked on capacity building and influencing at different levels through training sessions, awareness campaigns, train the trainer sessions, social media and media campaign 

Collaborations and networking – working with other hospitals and stakeholders at different levels Upon the directive of the Ministry of National Health Services and  Coordination facilitated the successful survey of two hospitals in Karachi resulting in Certification from WHO for PSFHF 

Responsible for budget development & strategic planning to identify research ideas and design research projects 

Working in collaboration with NIH for capacity building and awareness  programs in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety. 

Responsible for Marketing related activities necessary for the department 

Behavior change projects: Asthma School and Asthma Awareness Campaigns. Research on Behavior modifiers for Personal Protective behavior 

PROJECTS: Conducted the Situational Analysis of Healthcare Quality and Safety in Pakistan for WHO and worked with the scoping mission healthcare situation in Pakistan 

Successfully worked with a Military Hospital to develop a Quality and Safety task force and launch the Healthcare Quality Improvement initiative - this led to projects such as decreasing the number of uncollected reports in the laboratory and Adverse Drug Reporting. 

2019-11 - present 

Principal Investigator International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG), Islamabad, Pakistan Qualitative Study to explore Behavior change motivators and Barriers using the COM-B model IPCRG and RESPIRE Research Award for Qualitative Study Exploring the Barriers and Facilitators to self-protective behaviors among community pharmacists and pharmacy staff during COVID 19 

Study protocol, study budget and project management Development of all study related material  Profiling of the pharmacies (hospital/community pharmacies) of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi  Conducting interviews of the pharmacists and other pharmacy staff    Thematic analysis of the data.
