Noor Fareeha

An enthusiastic and Passionate Public Health Professional and Biostatistician, eager to work for the health improvement of different regions of Pakistan as it is facing several Public Health Issues such as the heavy burden of infectious diseases, poor healthcare system, lack of healthcare equipment, inadequate planning and implementations of national health policies. So, I want to take part in those national health policies aimed at preventing, promoting, prolonging, and protecting the health of individuals, households and communities. 

I have more than 1 year of research experience with different organizations. Like currently, I am working as Environment and occupational Health Intern at Aga Khan University Virtual Internship Programme Karachi, Pakistan. My duties are reviewing existing literature on the health impact of climate change and creating a presentation on the various data sections as needed to present a coherent argument for particular changes. Additionally,  made policy analysis and prepared a research paper on the topic “State of policies and programs to address health impacts of climate change in low- and middle-income countries: a case for Pakistan”. Similarly, I worked as a Remote Research Intern at  Grip your Life for almost one year. I have performed the in-depth literature review and wrote two review papers. I was part of 6-month long group research on the topic “Knowledge, attitudes and practices towards the consumption of caffeine among Adults” where I contributed to most of the tasks such as Research topic selection, Questionnaire building, Data collection through survey, Data Entry in MS Excel, Data analysis using SPSS and MS Excel and Report writing. . Furthermore, during my bachelor's degree, I was a principal investigator in a summer Research Project. We did surveys and provided Questionnaires to fifty participants in the three different regions of Hunza. We have involved many participants in in-depth interviews and Focus group discussions for the completion of the Research project.  Most of my work experience is related to Public Health problems and I know that this virtual internship asks for Environment and occupational health research. Therefore, I believe that the skills and knowledge that I have gained from my work experience will be helpful to do this Internship. Similarly, I was an Intern at Caritas, Bangladesh where I worked on a Project “Social Network of Marginalized People: Initiatives to Enhance Quality of Life and Equity (SMILE) at the Drop-In Centre in Chittagong. I have education, Health and yoga sessions for drug abusers, which helped them recover from drug abuse. I went for fieldwork, visited different drug-use hotspots and convinced five drug users to visit the Drop-In Centre. Also, I have prepared fifteen case studies on drug users who lived in the Drop-In Centre of Caritas, which provided research to improve health education and care for drug abusers. The work experience, knowledge and skills I have acquired proves that I am a perfect candidate for the role. 

I have completed my bachelor of science (BSc) in Public Health from Asian University for Women Chittagong, Bangladesh.
