Education

Ph.D. from College of Applied Environmental Microbiology, Huazhong Agricultural University Wuhan, P.R. China.
Research title: “mechanisms of simultaneous reduction of metalloids selenite and tellurite in bacillus sp. Y3”.
• A novel bacteria Bacillus sp. Y3 (Accession no: PRJNA561058) was discovered and reported in NCBI. This bacterial strain had a high reduction ability for Se(IV) and Te(IV) together and alone.
• After proteomic analysis a protein TrxR was discovered and reported for its reduction ability for Se(IV) and Te(IV) for the first time.
• Article: “Muhammad Yasir, Yuxiao Zhang, Zixiao Xu, Meizhong Luo, Gejiao Wang (2020). NAD(P)H dependent thioredoxindisulfide reductase TrxR is essential for tellurite and selenite reduction and resistance in Bacillus sp. Y3. FEMS Microbiol. Ecol. (I.F.5 = 4.09, accepted).
• BioSeNPs and TeNPs were produced by Bacillus sp. Y3, which were collected and purified for the checked for their role in the adsorption and removal of industrial dyes.
• Article: “Adsorption removal of multiple dyes by biogenic selenium and tellurium nanorods produced by Bacillus sp. Y3.” (In progress).
Supervisors: Professor Meizhong Luo, Professor Gejiao Wang. Project 2 College of Life Sciences and Technology, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, P.R. China. Ph.D. (Group Project
Still under Progress delayed by Covid)
• Title: "Identification of target host genes in Arabidopsis for
Agrobacterium virulence factors”.
• Pooled out 4 genes for VirE3 and VirD5.
2
• Produced mutant seeds. • Further F1 and F2 generation and their confirmation work is under progress. • Article “Expected 2023” Supervisor: Professor Mei Zhong Luo
