Syed Mahmood Askari

I am practicing orthopedic surgeon in Patel hospital , Karachi, Pakistan from 2015 January 

Patel hospital is a secondary care hospital which is well equipped and nearly all surgeries are performed here.

I have completed my FCPS training from Liaquat national hospital , Karachi in September 2008 and then did FCPS part 2 in 2010.

I am doing trauma and orthopedics (Ilizarov) surgery after I did fellowship in Ilizarov from Russia in 2018.

After passing FCPS part 1 in November 2022, I entered in CPSP Residency program in April 2003 at Liaquat National Hospital for 5 years which completed in September 2008.

I then joined Sir Syed Hospital as registrar in January 2009 where I was doing independent clinics and surgeries under supervision 

I then joined Memon Medical Hospital (MMIH) in October 2010 as a registrar orthopedics and  passed my FCPS part 2 exam in December 2010.

I continued working at MMIH and gradually promoted to senior registrar , junior consultant and then promoted to consultant, meanwhile I was looking after all trauma cases with regular clinics and  academia.

I joined Patel Hospital in January 2015 as a consultant orthopedics where I continued my practice as a trauma surgeon and I also started taking interest in complicated trauma cases like nonunion, infection, treatment of bone loss for bone transport and limb lengthening  by Ilizarov method of surgery so I did basic and advanced Ilizarov courses at national level from ASAMI Pakistan and then I went Russia , (kurgan city) for mini fellowship in 2018.

I left for KSA (Saudi Arabia) in July 2020 (during COVID 19) as a consultant and head of the Department Orthopedics in Prince Abdul Mohsin Hospital at Al Ula city in Medina region

I came back from KSA in July 2021 and rejoined Patel hospital in August 2021and continued working as consultant and head of the Department till date
