Khuram Pervez

With over 22 years of professional experience in the fields of energy generation, energy management, and sustainability along with academic experience, Khuram is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Energy Institute of the United Kingdom, and a professional member of Pakistan Engineering Council and Pakistan HVACR Society. Khuram holds a Ph.D. degree and a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Energy Systems from London South Bank University, UK, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Khuram is the ex-Energy Manager of the Queen Mary University of London.
Khuram’s skills center on embedding energy efficiency and environmental objectives into industrial projects and organizations. With numerous international trainings, high-impact factor publications, and his vast experience in industrial and community-related projects focusing on energy efficiency, climate change, health, and the environment, Khuram is considered as a well-known energy expert in his circles. Khuram has won two major projects which mainly focus on deforestation and health. He has recently received huge appreciation from Mangla Power House authorities for designing and installing a cooling system for 100 MW Francis Turbine which has resulted in financial savings of nearly 20.4 million PKR daily. He has presented his University on different national media channels. Khuram is currently working as Chairperson and Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mirpur University of
Science and Technology, Pakistan. Khuram is also working as Energy Manager on a volunteer basis at the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT).

 

Since the completion of his Ph.D. degree from London South Bank University, UK, Khuram has 10 years of teaching and research experience in the field of energy and mechanical engineering. Khuram was the Energy Manager at the Queen Mary University of London where he used his extensive experience in energy management and implemented a number of energy-saving initiatives. He is an expert in doing feasibility studies for various types of renewable energy sources and clean technologies such as Combined Heat and Power (CHP) technology. Khuram served as Sustainable Energy Engineer at Self Energy Ltd, a London-based energy consultancy firm during the period 2008 to May 2011. Khuram has also about seven years of hands-on professional experience in a 37MW power plant where he served as Maintenance Engineer for the period Jan 2001 to Sep 2007.

Khuram's Ph.D. study was mainly focused on Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Technology, a clean energy technology that is gaining greater recognition in all parts of the world. khuram's Masters's degree is in Sustainable Energy Systems which helped him in getting professional jobs at Self Energy Ltd and Queen Mary University of London, UK. Khuram also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering which helped him during his service as a Maintenance Engineer at a 37MW power plant.
