About Jaysinha Shinde:

I am passionate about teaching and regard it as a way for me to make a difference in the lives of students and therefore a direct means to personal success and growth. I have experience teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and love using diverse industry experiences, latest research, and technology tools in the classroom.  This approach has paid rich dividends in terms of student engagement, motivation, and performance.  Given below are some of my teaching highlights:

  • 14+ years of teaching experience in Accounting including AIS, Auditing, Forensic, and Managerial.
  • Consistent teaching evaluations exceeding 4.5/5.0.
  • Solid teaching experience in a variety of formats - classroom, online, and hybrid.

An important element of providing students meaningful classroom experiences is using the latest research in the field of Accounting.  I have consistently published papers in reputable peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences. In 2021, I had a publication accepted by Accounting Education. Accounting Education is ranked as an A Journal by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC).

I enjoy collaborating with colleagues and hope to contribute strongly towards the goals and mission of the College of Business Administration.   Here are some of my research highlights:

  • Multiple peer-reviewed journal publications in the past three years (Including A journals)
  • Multiple proceedings at national and international conferences (including AAA)
  • Active engagement with the academic community (chairperson, reviewer, section liaison, etc.)
  • Active research pipeline of submitted papers to good journals

Leveraging my strong professional experience, particularly as the President of an international firm involved in multiple startups, I have worked to bring practical perspectives into many student organizations and the classroom.  I see service as a way to enrich student development, while simultaneously providing them much needed real world experience. Here are some of my service and professional highlights:

  • Industry experience that includes three startup ventures.
  • Experience in student advising and curriculum development.
  • Experience with AACSB accreditation
  • Faculty Advisor of Beta Alpha Psi (Honorary Accounting Society) and Student Accounting Society
  • Member of college-wide and departmental committees.

I am confident that I can make purposeful contributions as a faculty member, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Jaysinha S. Shinde, Ph.D.
