Halfaya Project Surface Facility Phase Three Gas Processing Plants (Green Field). 300 MMSCFD, 26000 BPD of condensate, 30000 BPD of LPG and 157 TPD of Sulphur produced from all the CPFs. It is for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance Services (EPCCOM) for Halfaya Gas Processing Plant (GPP) Project in Iraq with 1.07 billion U.S. dollar contract Project. Missan oil field, Noor oilfield and Amarah oil field raw gas shall be connected to GPP and it will be expanded to MGPP (future).  The total capacity of all oilfields is 450 MMSCFD.  Detailed Design and review activities completed.  Site Construction got slow down due to Covid 19.

My role is to review the process engineering deliverables and recommend the revisions and improvements in process engineering deliverables, safety and operability as well as coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers and resolve the engineering related issues in the project.  The following are the main process and utility units involved in the project:-

Project: FEED Services for Gas Plants Central Processing Facility (CPF) at Artawi and Bin Omer, Onshore Pre-FEED / FEED for SGC Iraq

The total gas capacity of Artawi gas field was 400 MMscfd (Compression of 200 MMscfd from local degassing stations plus compression of additional 200 MMscfd gas from Tuba, Luhais and Subba) with 1.5 % H2S. The total gas capacity of Bin Omer gas field was 300 MMscfd (Compression of 300MMscfd from local degassing stations) with 0.3% H2S. The standardized Greenfield plants were consist of the following main processing facilities:

Gas gathering, Inlet Compression, Gas Sweetening, Gas Dehydration, Gas compression metering and export. NGL Recovery, Liquid product storage metering and export. Sulphur Recovery Unit, Storage, Pelletising, Bagging & Export and Tail Gas Treatment Unit etc

 

2 x 50% trains were provided for NGL Recovery and LPG Fractionation. Single process trains was provided for all other units.

Involved in technical discussions and coordination with vendors and Process Technology Licensors for Technology Selection for Licensor Amine Unit, Licensor Dehydration Unit and NGL / LPG Unit and Sulphur Recovery unit. Coordinated with other partner Project Offices as SNC-UK and SNC-Mumbai for technical support for timely completion of the project.

Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for 685 Km Pump Stations PS1A to PS5A with 56 inch diameter crude oil pipeline was completed. The critical components of the project include Fiscal Metering Stations, 5 Intermediate Pump Stations, crude oil storage tanks and utility systems for each station. Surge relief systems and instrumented protective system was considered in the design to avoid development of excessive surge pressures.

Project: Iraq-Jordan Oil Export Infrastructure Pipeline Project with Fuel Gas Supply pipeline including review and revamp of SCOP Crude Oil Central Processing Facility (CPF) 

Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for 966 Km Iraq to Jordan 42 inch diameter crude oil pipeline was completed. The critical components of the project include Fiscal Metering Stations, 5 Intermediate Pump Stations, Pressure Reduction Stations (PRS) and Pressure Control Station (PCS), Aqaba crude oil storage tanks, Aqaba Marine export facility and crude oil Jetty (mooring dolphins) and utility systems for each station.

Project: The Kunnar / Pasakhi Deep and Tando Allahyar Integrated Development Project named as KPD-TAY Integrated Dev. Project, 312 MMscfd Gas Plants Central Processing Facility (CPF) for Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd.Pakistan

 

Project Phase – II contained the 340 MMscfd raw gas, 305 MMscfd sales gas, 4800 BPD of condensate, 4950 BPD of LPG and 950 BPD of produced water and the objective was to minimize the CO2 content and to maximize the recovery of LPG from well gas and condition the gas to meet the specification for entry into the Sui Southern Gas Company’s transmission system. 

The project comprises of wellhead facilities, gas gathering /separation System and gas Processing Plants. The GPP was consist of following units:  Gas sweetening units (2 trains), LPG extraction units (2 trains of Dew Point Control, De-Ethanizer, and De-Butanizer etc), Condensate Stabilization units (2 trains), Sales Gas Compressors (3 x 50% capacity), Sales Gas Metering, LPG & Condensate Storage, Loading and Metering. The associated utilities as power generation, heat medium system, Instrument air/service air system, Nitrogen generation and distribution system, Fuel gas system, Diesel Fuel System, Relief and blowdown system, Fire water system, potable water system, closed drain system and produced water system.
