Ali Qureshi

I am a faculty member currently working as an Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics at Shifa College of Dentistry (SCD), Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), Islamabad, Pakistan.

My job description involves teaching undergraduate students of dentistry (BDS) the subject of prosthodontics (dentistry), supervising them in the same department on an academic rotation basis, and taking care of the patients attending the same department as a consultant prosthodontist.

In addition, I am also involved in curriculum designing as well as its evaluation for undergraduate teaching. Exam paper setting is another job in which I am taking part including summative as well as formative assessment. 

I am currently working as a Consultant Prosthodontist and Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics at Shifa College of Dentistry (SCD), Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), Islamabad, Pakistan since 1st January 2020. In order to broaden my horizon in teaching skills, I passed the Certificate of Health Professional Education (CHPE) from Riphah International University (RIU), Islamabad, Pakistan in the year 2020.

Before that, I worked as a Senior Lecturer / Registrar of Prosthodontics at the Margalla Institute of Health Sciences, Rawalpindi, Pakistan from 3rd October 2017 till 31st December 2019. During this time period, I passed FCPS in Prosthodontics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Karachi, Pakistan in the year 2018.

Prior to that, I completed my four-year FCPS residency/training in prosthodontics at the Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry (AFID), Rawalpindi, Pakistan from 1st July 2013 to 31st June 2017. During this time period, I passed my Intermediate Module Exam (IMM) in the year 2016.

My first assignment after completion of my house job in dentistry was as a Demonstrator of Dentistry at Rawal Institute of Health Sciences (RIHS), Islamabad where I worked from 7th September 2011 to 30th June 2013.

Following my graduation with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), I completed my mandatory one-year House Job at my parent institute: Lahore Medical and Dental College, Lahore (LM&DC) from 1st April 2010 to 31st March 2011.

This all sums up making my teaching and clinical experience of Twelve Years (12), Seven Months (07), and Ten Days (10) after completion of my graduation.
