I am a Chemical Engineer, with almost 22 years of diversified Experience in Process Design, Process Safety, Process Optimization, Operations Support, commissioning & Projects Coordination.   

I have remained vital part of the different Mega Projects in important phases of Project life Cycle. These include Select, FEED and Execute Phases.  

I have worked in major Capital Projects with EPC contractors and Consultants like ABB, Clough, BiLFINGER Tebodein, CH2MHILL, XODUS, ENAR Petrotech and DESCON Engineering.  

My core industrial exposures are in upstream Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Petrochemical Sectors. I have worked with leading National and Multinational organizations including DESCON, OMV & PDO-SHELL.  

I am a Chartered Engineer in Process Design & Registered Process Safety Engineer with IChemE. I am a Senior Member of AICHE. My Application for getting FSE (Functional Safety Expert status with "Exida") is also in progress. 

I have recently started my own consultancy firm, "Process Edge" aims to provide solutions in fields of Process, Process Safety Engineering, Energy Optimization, Emissions Reduction &Waste water treatment. Process Edge is technically well equipped to provide day to day solutions to its clients.

Senior Concepts Engineer, PDO-Shell, Oman (March 2014- to July-2018)  

PDO operates in a concession area of about 100,000 km2 (one third of Oman’s geographical area), Royal Dutch Shell Has 34% shares in the Company. PDO follows Shell Systems & DEP. 

MAIN PROJECTS:

YIBAL REJUVINATION PROJECT:

Yibal plant has the capacity to process approx. 200000 Sm3/day of Gross fluids including 70 MMSCFD Gas. The Project was launched to replace piping and Equipment due to integrity issues. Projects includes optimizing the Equipment sizing and adding compressors to recover associated gas to make sure zero flaring. The Project worth is approx of 600 Million USD.

• Worked as Senior Process Engineer in the Project right from concept stage to Execute phase.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

• Presented & demonstrated proposal of downgrading wellhead flow lines from ANSI # 600 to ANSI # 300 for new lines to be laid & MSV Skids from ANSI #900 to ANSI #600, as a result of technology shift from Gas lift to ESP. thus Saving Potential of US $500000 
• Proposed to include/ consider new MSV skids as part of well head flow line IPF system to down grade MSV Pressure rating & hence decreasing required SIL for rest of the system.
• Proposed to drain & commission existing & new GRE Headers one by one instead of doing together to optimize shutdown time & Hence Potential 2 days advantage for production.
• Won as YRP Project  team  “Value Engineering & Economics Award, 2017, ” in Silver Category

    Lead -Process Engineer OMV GmbH (March 2008 to April 2014)                           

With Group sales of EUR 42.65 bn. & a workforce of around 29,000 employees, OMV is one of Austria’s largest listed industrial companies. OMV had proven oil & gas reserves of approximately 1.12 bn. BOE.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

• Successfully achieved production 02 Months earlier than Scheduled (65-70 MMSCFD) from Latif Block of wells at SAWAN Gas Plant through unique application of FA Study & Processing scheme Optimization.
• Optimized the Fuel Gas consumption of Gas Turbine by mixing it with Membrane Permeate gas at KCF.
• Trouble shooting of Silica Gel based Adsorption unit to handle heavy hydrocarbons in feed gas.
• Troubleshooting of the Nitrogen generation package inadequate performance.
• Sawan Flow lines Debottlenecking by looping to reduce higher pressure drop in the Flow lines.
• Presented & demonstrated proposal at KCF to increase Gas production by approx 20-25 MMSCFD taking advantage of changed gas composition, existing equipment & involving slightest modifications.
• Launched idea & completed case study of using Mitsubishi CO2 Capture/Absorption technique from flue gases to use for Gas Sweetening at Low operating pressure & thus decreasing CH4 in waste stream

  PROJECTS

• MEHAR GAS FIELD DVELOPMENT PROJECT

Scope starts with Concept development of Mehar gas field with production capabilities of 30 MMSCFD sales gas, 3300 BPD condensate & approx. 50 TPD LPG. The project is worth of approx 100 million US $.  The Facility mainly comprises of Gas sweetening, dehydration, HCDP control, CSU & LPG extraction units

SAWAN GAS FIELD FRONT END COMPRESSION PROJECT 

Scope includes installation of compression station with four centrifugal compressors at the Sawan gas plant(Compression capacity of 380 MMSCFD gas).The station includes four Siemens ISO Rating 7680 KW  turbines & complete utilities system & tie in with current plant. The project worth  approx.. 160 million US $.

• TAJJAL GAS FIELD DEVELOPMENT & COMPRESSION PROJECT

Scope includes installation of wellhead facilities, flow line & reception facilities for Tajjal gas field. Installation of  Compression stations along with concept selection for location and machinery type selection. complete utilities was also part of scope..

KADANWARI CENTRAL FACILITY DBN PROJECT

Project iwas intended to evaluate possible ways of increasing sales gas production by 30-40 MMSCFD. The possible options include plant parameters optimization, by pass split stream across bottle necked units & evaluation of performance of High Selectivity membrane Elements.

MIDDLE INDUS BASIN GAS PLANTS OPTIMIZATION STUDY

Scope included evaluation of different strategies to optimize the utilization of three gas processing plants considering the Life of various gas fields located in the Middle Indus basin region. Responsibilities included development & evaluation of strategies considering the Life of fields, & coordination with stakeholders

 LATIF FIELD DEVELOPMENT AND PROCESSING AT SAWAN FACILITYE 

The Projects intends to develop Latif field. Install compression stations at selected wells. Flow line Engineering, and Latif Gas Processing at SCP (SAWAN Central Plant). That includes Evaluation of whole Sawan plant for processing Latif field gas and add facilities accordingly.

                      PROCESS DESIGN ENGINEER (Jan 2005 to March 2008)  DEL

MAIN PROJECT:    PACKAGES 200 TPH BOILER 

Description of Project: EPC of 200 TPH superheated, high pressure water tube boiler for PACKAGAES (PAKISTAN) Limited, The project was designed to meet the requirements of power generation & steam used at different Equipment of the plant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Basic Process Design Calculations. 
• Detailed Engineering for Complete water & Steam piping of Boiler, Sizing of BFW Pumps & Steam Drums.
• Trouble Shooting & Report writing For ICI Kheowra Water Tube Boilers
• Worked on Power plant simulator for design & Rating of FTB, WTB, & Combine Cycle Power Plants 

Achievements: Worked on the unique project of Fire Tube Boiler Standardization, in this capacity,

Standardized the Thermal Design of Complete range of FTB from 03 to 25 TPH based on EN-Code Requirements.       

ASSISTANT MANAGER (Chemical) (APRIL 2002 to JAN 2005) NDC Petrochemical Complex   

Assistant Production Manager Duties at a Petro Chemical plant meant for production of the Polyol butadiene.

 Installations Overview Stirred Tank reactors, Water Bath Heaters, Falling Film Evaporators, Ethanol Recovery System through Packed  Extractive & Vacuum Distillation Columns, Cooling Water System, &Storage facilities

     Duties & responsibilities:

• Monitoring & controlling the process parameters to make sure smooth run of the plant.
